Mercato Mayfair: Hidden gem of a food hall

If you’re after a quirky and beautiful place to eat then you will love Mercato Mayfair. Perfect for a meal or just a cocktail!

Outside the church that now houses Mercato Mayfair

The unlikely blend of a food hall with a church resulted in Mercato Mayfair. A fantastic place to meet friends as you can share a table but eat from any of the street food stalls.

The Church Building

The stained glass at the back of the church strikes you immediately as you walk in. There is now a gin bar behind the pulpit. You then start to see the details like the high chairs stored around the font on your right. The upstairs mezzanine level now has cafe seating and even more food options. If you head down to the basement, it feels like a cave with it’s rounded ceiling and walls.

Food Options

There is plenty of choice in the main food hall on the ground floor of the church. You can get the lift or walk up to the terrace with more food options with some limited seating. There is even a roof terrace for a warm summers day. For a different feel, you can go down into the basement to a sushi and wine bar with more relaxed, comfortable seating.

For groups of 5 or more you can book a table. I would recommend this option if you are visiting for lunch or dinner.
