Three levels of shops inside Westfield Stratford

Westfield Stratford: Best shopping in East London

Visiting Westfield Stratford is a great alternative day out when you have a rainy day. If you have explored central London and seen most of the traditional sites then consider vising Westfield Stratford. If you love a shopping centre where all the shops are easily accessible with everything under one roof then don’t miss visiting here.

Stratford

You could combine a day trip shopping with a little exploring too. Stratford in East London is a vibrant and diverse part of London that has undergone significant transformation in recent years. From Westfield, the largest shopping centre in Europe (so it’s website claims) to the sprawling Olympic Park from the 2012 Olympic games; there are lots of Things to Do in the area.

An easy journey from central London, I took the jubilee line from London Bridge and was there in 20 minutes. The tube station walkway takes you from the tube platform directly to the entrance to Westfield. All under cover, perfect for a rainy day. The signage was clear and easy to follow both to the shopping centre and to the Olympic park.

Shopping Centre

Westfield Shopping Centre is three storeys tall with escalators allowing easy access to each level. The shops – over 250 of them! tend to be grouped together slightly which makes navigating to each type of shop a little easier. There are some shops outside which isn’t too clear from the maps. I did spend quite a long time figuring that out! A vast range of shops are available, alongside different food areas including an enormous food court and even a separate Asian street food area. Restaurants inside and out with cinema, bowling and casino to keep you entertained.
